Preparing For Winter Season
Chinese medicine teaches us to live in harmony with the seasons, and according to Chinese medicine theory, there are five seasons: spring, summer, late summer, autumn and winter. Each season has many associations that help us change our habits as the seasons change to create more balance between our bodies and the external environment.
Winter represents the most Yin aspect in Chinese medicine. In winter, Yang energies internalize, and Yin energies dominate. It’s a time of conserving energy, rest and stillness, with our qi moving deeper inward to help keep us warm. When the season changes, we need to change our approach to living to stay well.
During this the event, you will not only discover how to best keep our bodies in balance, but also the Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner Dr Tian will give some advice for you for the wintertime on how to prevent and relieve ‘cold’ symptoms; discuss winter foods, will exercise tips and various self-care routines.
